2013 Giant Trance X 29er 2

You'll rule the climbs, the descents and all the rough stuff in between like never before on your Trance X 29er 2. This trail-feasting machine smooths technical terrain with 125mm of Maestro travel and a 120mm RockShox fork. Giant's ALUXX SL aluminum frame is durable, efficient and handles confidently in treacherous topography. The geometry is quick, confident, capable and just feels right, no matter which way your wheels are pointing. No matter where you ride, speed comes easy with Giant wheels, Schwalbe tires and Giant controls. Plus, the Trance's 2x10 SRAM drivetrain keeps pedaling fluid and smooth while Shimano's disc brakes deliver pure stopping power.

Just like Late Dave, this was my first 29er, coming from an old 1198 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR XC 26" full suspension bike. I'll have to say, the first couple of rides, I had a hard time adjusting from the Shimano XT/XTR group to the Sram X5/X7 group. In fact, I immediately swapped out the shifters and rear derailleur for Sram X9 parts, and that made a big difference. I'm still not sure if I like the Sram as well as the XTR, but I'm giving it some time. I have so much fun on this bike! Like Late Dave, climbing seems a lot easier on this bike than my old 26er. I also now brave drops and climbs that I never did before due to the confidence the Trance inspires in me. Both the front and rear suspension seem to work really well for me, whether I'm riding over roots or crazy big rocks at Govt. Canyon. The saddle also works well for me. I would highly recommend this bike to anyone looking for a great 29er for the money.

      Comments:

I made the transition from26er to29er with this bike. I cannot believe the difference. I've climbed hills that i never was able to climb on my 26er.The first day i rode it, I felt like there was nothing I couldn't do. The maestro suspension works great. The brakes perform well. The front fork May not be the best. But it performs well enough for me. I thought about getting the trance 1,it had better components. But, it had elixer 3 brakes, and I don't like them. It was also more money. The fork and rear shock might justify spending the extra money. But, I was limited with the money i could spend. I've thoroughly enjoyed this bike, and if i had to go back to riding my old bike I'd probably quit mountain biking altogether. If you're looking for a good entry level full suspension 29er,this is a good bike for the money. To me the worst part of mountain biking is climbing, and this bike makes climbing so much easier. It climbs like a beast and descends like one too.I was skeptical about going from a 26er to a 29er.But, I'm glad i decided to. I think 29er bikes are the future of mountain biking.

Great all around bike for the price. I am thinking about turning the wheels into tubless but I still have some researching to do. Great bike
